From the parking lot at the material cable car, we follow the “Pilgrimage Trail of World Religions” to the Rottenmanner Hut, which we reach after about 1.5 hours of walking. After a short rest on the sun terrace, we follow trail no. 944a over the Hirschriedl towards the Singsdorfer Alm, which is located at about 1,600 m above sea level. Passing the alpine huts, we climb along the small stream to the source at Bachspreng, where we have our last chance to replenish our water supplies. We continue to the right under the steep rock faces of the Moserspitz and climb up to the saddle at 2,165 m. After another 30 minutes and some boulder climbing, we reach the summit structure. A rope safety system is in place here to help you negotiate this section. The climb is rewarded with a panoramic view of the mountains that you are unlikely to forget in a hurry.
We continue along the summit chain for about 2.5 hours to Moserspitz (2,230 m), Diewaldgupf (2,125 m), and Seegupf (2,011 m) along trail no. 944 with about 250 meters of elevation gain on counterclimbs. From Seegupf, we descend via the Seescharte via a slightly exposed but well-secured trail to Globuckensee, from where it is only 15 minutes to the Rottenmanner Hut. After refreshments, it takes about 1 hour to walk back to the parking lot at the material cable car. As trail no. 944 over the summit chain in the Moserspitz and Seescharte area has some exposed sections, sure-footedness, a head for heights, and experience in alpine terrain are prerequisites for this tour.
