Our wines get their character and uniqueness from the heavy sandy-loam soil on which the vines grow and from the climate of south-east Styria. A cellar with modern equipment as well as technical and professional expertise allow our white wines to mature in a clean varietal style, with a complex flavour, moderate acidity and not too high an alcohol content.
Our red wines mature for twelve months in large wooden barrels or barriques.
Red wine lovers are surprised anew every year, and for some years now, junior manager Stefan, a graduate of the Silberberg viticultural college, has been in charge of the cellar. Stefan's great expertise combined with the experience of his father Johann Tauchmann produce good quality wines year after year.
