For the 26th time, the Schladming-Dachstein region will be the stage for a festival celebrating brass music in all its facets from July 8 to 12, 2025. What once began as a vision is now one of the most important events on the international brass music scene. Year after year, Mid EUROPE inspires musicians, guests and locals alike. From classical brass music and Bohemian melodies to rousing marching formations - this event combines musical diversity and first-class performances in an incomparable way.
Highlights include the opening concert on July 8 with the renowned Bavarian Police Orchestra and a welcome fanfare by the University of Michigan Marching Band, guaranteeing a brilliant start to the festival.
On Wednesday morning, “Kids & Cops in Concert” will delight the youngest music fans - this year under the motto: “When the police set the pace”. The World Youth Wind Orchestra (WYWOP) and the police will be on hand to provide entertainment with a varied supporting program.
At the Schladming City Festival - Long Night of Music on 10 July, the city center will become a musical stronghold: artists from all over the world will provide rousing sounds, while extended business opening hours and a colorful kids' area will ensure a varied experience. In addition, regional delicacies will spoil visitors with culinary delights.
A special highlight is the return of the spectacular “Schladming Tattoo” marching show on July 11 in the Planai Stadium, where the University of Michigan Marching Band, together with the Upper Austrian Military Band, the regional music bands from Stein an der Enns and the marching band of the Vielharmonie Kirchlinteln will delight the audience with impressive marching formations and rousing music.
The festival is complemented by church concerts, an open-air concert by the Upper Austrian Military Band in Haus im Ennstal as well as workshops and master classes for music enthusiasts.
The international orchestra projects WYWOP (for young talents aged 18 to 32) and WAWOP (for musicians aged 32 and over), which form the heart of the festival, will also take center stage.
Mid EUROPE 2025 promises musical highlights, cultural diversity and inspiring encounters - a festival for all the senses that brings the magic of brass music to the Schladming-Dachstein region.
