Yodelling underground! Experience a very special sound adventure in the Graz Region.
On Wednesday, 24 September 2025 at 6:30 p.m., something unusual happens under the streets of Graz: the parking garage at Kaiser Franz Josef Kai 8 transforms into an echo chamber for the voice. “Yodeling in special places” – now a well-known format featured on radio and TV – invites you to experience an urban acoustic adventure in one of the city’s most surprising venues.
Led by Daniel Fuchsberger, participants dive into the world of yodeling in a setting where every note lingers. The raw concrete space offers a natural hall effect – ideal for voice work and acoustic exploration. What sounds traditional in the mountains becomes modern and experimental in the city.
In 90 minutes, guests can expect:
• Breathing and vocal exercises in the hall space
• Guided yodeling sequences to join in
• Immersive soundscapes shaped by architecture
Organized in cooperation with the Steirisches Volksliedwerk, this event blends tradition with urban flair. It’s part of the cultural calendar of the Graz Region – where Alpine heritage meets city innovation. Tickets are € 12 for members, € 15 regular (registration at www.steirisches-volksliedwerk.at or call +43 316 908635).
By the way: standing in the garage, you feel how sound surrounds you – like singing in a church, but cooler. First hesitant tones, then full voices – it’s a sound adventure, a cultural highlight in Styria that brings people together and makes voices fly.
