Inviting works of art and poetry connect deaf and hearing cultural languages.
Exhibition opening with performance on September 4th from 6:00 PM.
At the Academy Graz, an art world unfolds where deaf and hearing perspectives flourish together. The project presents new lyrical and visual expressions – inspired by sign language and the diversity of flowers.
The exhibition "Blooming" takes place from September 5th to September 26th, 2025 in Styria and invites encounters halfway between different cultural spaces. Poems, video art, as well as jewelry and floral works grow in an interdisciplinary engagement with deaf and hearing artists who bravely take on the challenge of reshaping thinking and visibility. The atmosphere exudes a delicate beauty: flower colors, poetic lines, and sign language rhythms intertwine and show how cultural understanding can unfold.
The exhibition evokes an inviting atmosphere without being loud; understanding is established here through quiet gestures and visible forms. Artists such as Fatema Hamidi, Daniela Kocmut, Anna Napetschnik, Niklas Obermaier, Lea Titz, and VS Rosenberg, 2B contribute to the diversity with poetry, video, photography, jewelry, floristics, and translation work.
Inclusion and appreciative encounters shape the format, which becomes visible in a public space as well as in the digital sphere. It is a gentle awakening in cultural coexistence – an art and literature project that opens a window in the Graz Region for curious eyes and hands to find expression together.
