Best of Poetry Slam

When words fly, punchlines hit hard and the stage pulses with energy – it's time for the “Best of Poetry Slam” at Schauspielhaus Graz. Since 2014, this format has grown from a YouTube success to a stage highlight. Twice a year, the Slam Kollektiv and Schauspielhaus Graz bring the best of the scene to Styria – a meeting of international stars and local wordsmiths. Curated by Yannick Steinkellner, each edition features two Austrian and two international poets. Sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful, often critical – always full of passion. These texts aren’t just read, they’re performed. Spoken word becomes performance, language becomes show. The event takes place on December 27 and is a must for literature lovers, culture fans and anyone wanting to experience Graz from a creative perspective. The venue – Schauspielhaus Graz – is easily accessible by public transport. In the Graz Region, modern stage art meets poetic diversity – a night full of energy, rhyme and rhythm.
