Nicolas Betucci: Tango Argentino

Pöllau bei Hartberg

About the offer

Nicolás Bertucci ‘ It's not about acrobatics.
The most beautiful thing about tango is embracing a woman and walking with her in harmony with the music’ Nicolás Bertucci, born in Buenos Aires, has lived and taught in Vienna since 1999. He recently moved to Pöllau/ Styria. He has been involved with tango since 1995 - first with the music as a DJ at a milonga in Holland and then as a dancer. Some of his teachers were old ‘milongueros’ such as Gavito, Cacho Dante, Eduardo Arquimbau, ‘El Gallego’ Manolo or Luis Grondona and from the younger generation he was especially influenced by ‘milonga specialist’ Gustavo Chidichimo. ‘Abrazo, Musica, Simplicidad y Sentimiento’ The embrace, the ability to listen to the music, simplicity and feeling are the essential factors of tango dancing for Nicolás and also characterise his teaching. Nicolás teaches Tango Milonguero / Tango Salón, as it was danced in the past and is still danced today in the milongas of Buenos Aires. It is important to him to preserve and revitalise the original Tango Argentino. In addition to the weekly courses, Nicolás also organises weekend workshops in various cities in Austria as well as in Slovakia, England and Switzerland.

Karin Szivacsek Trained in mindfulness and yoga. Teaching for guests of the Retter Bio Natur Resort and from 2025 open courses in the surrounding area. About the serviceprovider

TANGO ARGENTINO The soulful Argentine tango has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009.

Originally danced in Buenos Aires' dive bars, the Argentine tango became socially acceptable via Paris and conquered the whole world. In contrast to tango shows or standard tango in dance schools, Argentine tango is primarily a social dance that can be adapted to music and dancing ability, does not require acrobatics and is therefore suitable for all age groups.
At traditional dance evenings - called milongas - which take place all over the world, it is customary to change partners regularly. It is an improvisation dance in which, in addition to dance steps, it is primarily about the connection between the partners, the embrace, as well as the interpretation of the music, where simple steps in the most diverse combinations can produce a multi-faceted dance. In a beginners' course, walking, turning, simple step combinations, making contact and embracing as well as balance, body awareness, beat, etc. are learnt and practised alone and in pairs.
