Styrian Summer Art: Urban Sketching

From the versatile, beautiful, and inspiring surroundings of the picturesque town of Pöllau, with its basilica, magnificent castle park, and many large and small motifs, we will explore a variety of drawing techniques, urban sketching methods, and watercolor mixing techniques over three days. Through simple steps, we will explain image composition, perspective, and composition based on the selected motif. In the process, we will develop and refine our techniques and learn from each other.
The results will be beautiful personal memories of our weekend in Pöllau.

Please bring:

All graphic and water-soluble painting materials are welcome.

Material suggestions: 
a good drawing pad or sketchbook and 1 watercolor block, 
various drawing pencils and materials, such as pencils, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, fine liners, etc. Kneadable and eraser.  
Watercolors and brushes in various sizes, 
colored drawing paper (sheets from Canson), if desired

Paper towels, tape, paint containers, sharpener, 
painting stool or seating cushion
sun protection

Julia Bauernfeind, born in Klagenfurt, lived for ten years in the USA, where she studied graphic design, illustration, and painting at California State University Long Beach. Since her graduation with a Master of Fine Arts, the freelance artist has been living and working in Graz.
