Styrian Summer Art: Graffiti and Street Art

The graffiti workshop for adults offers the opportunity to expand artistic skills through the exploration of various techniques and styles of graffiti art. Regardless of experience level, this workshop is designed for everyone, whether they are beginners or advanced artists.

In the course of the workshop, participants will learn the proper handling of spray cans and implement these techniques in practical projects. The application of different methods, from wall paint to rollers and the use of stencils, allows them to diversify their skills in graffiti art and develop their own artistic identity.

Another central aspect of the workshop is collaborative sketching, where ideas are exchanged and learned from each other. In a creative community, sketches are created, accompanied by detailed explanations for transferring to large-format walls. This practice not only promotes the realization of individual ideas but also encourages creative exchange and collaboration in graffiti and street art.

This workshop is held in collaboration with the
SAMA-Kollektiv, curated by Susanna Katter. 

Youth aged 13 and up. 

Please bring:

Pencil and paper for sketches, clothing that can get dirty (including shoes), and a protective mask if available.

Susanna Katter, born in 1994, currently lives and works in Graz and is an active organizational member of the Sama Art and Culture Association. 
She studied graphics and photography at the Art University of Linz, where she earned her bachelor's degree. Due to her numerous travels and places of residence in Austria, as well as her passion for the mountains, she has worked in various locations. 
Currently, she works as a freelance artist and workshop leader in Graz, focusing on canvas painting and large murals. Her current works address themes such as illusions, dreams, perception, and reality. The motifs of her artworks range from current social issues to people, animals, nature, and their interrelationships, contrasting abstraction with realism.
