The Vorauer Schwaig, situated at an altitude of 1,511 meters above sea level, can be reached on foot or by car via the toll road via Festenburg.
Hiking trails from St. Lorenzen, Bruck/Lafnitz and Waldbach/Mönichwald lead directly to the alpine hut via forest roads or marked paths. The friendly hospitality with snacks and drinks is popular with hikers and visitors alike.
The Hochwechsel, with an altitude of 1,743 meters, is about an hour's walk from the Vorauer Schwaig and is only open in summer!
From the 1st Saturday in June (Almauftrieb) to the 1st Saturday in September (Almabtrieb).
