How did the debut cabaret "ON THE WAY TO ME" by Andreas Schlintl come about?
Andreas discovered his love for cabaret in his youth. Back in the late 90s, it was people like Alfred Dorfer and Josef Hader who inspired him. His first attempts and stage experiences took place at the youth theater of the European Youth. With the play "Der Meisterboxer," where Andreas took on the lead role, he even went on a tour in Germany.
At some point, music developed into a major passion, and in 2008, he took the leap to become a professional musician. But thoughts of having his own cabaret program kept coming back. Only after finishing the book "Auf dem Weg zu mir" by Schlintl and considering how and in what form it should be presented did he make the decision to pursue cabaret. This was further supported by his friend and best man, Harald. The first cabaret program, which shares the same name as the book, tells stories from life and the "ME" that everyone carries within them. "As children, we have big dreams and wishes, but these are often crushed by our surroundings and school, to the point that we can hardly remember them as adults." Andreas packages some of his own stories, like that of a plumbing apprentice facing a blockage, or the sensitive topic of vacuuming in a relationship, into relatable narratives. When the laughter muscles need a break, he picks up the guitar and musically points out that we are becoming more and more like a number.
