Festive presentation of the new vintage at the Brandlucken-Huabn Theater
For 26 years now, the apple men of Puch have kept their secret abacus method under wraps.
A special sharpening of the senses of each individual apple man is required so that the plump apple from the tree may one day be called an abacus.
From the seductive scent in the nose to the perfectly fruity pleasure on the palate, all criteria must be met by the apple to be selected as a variety for a new vintage.
After careful and gentle fermentation, the apple can then be spiritualized according to the abacus method.
Then it is placed on carefully selected clay bricks from the Celtic mountain Kulm.
ABAKUS, the divine spirit from human hands in Puch, is the practical embodiment of the theory of purity.
To give true friends of spiritual delights insights into the world of apple farmers, their fruitful work, and their self-imposed regulations, we have spared neither effort nor expense and warmly invite you to the presentation and tasting of the abacus in a festive setting.
This year, the new vintage will be presented on Friday, November 7th at 7:30 PM at the Brandlucken near Huabn Theater.

THE ABAKUS – unique apple schnapps from Puch
Far-sighted and brave men from the region around the apple village of Puch joined forces many years ago to create the highest spiritualization of the Styrian apple. The Abakus – the name of this special schnapps – is made under the strictest adherence to the rules of the apple men, exclusively from the best apples of each vintage, kept confidential.
Strictly regulated 1,444 bottles per vintage are distilled by the apple men from the very best apples. The Abakus gently matures for at least 1 year on clay bricks from the Celtic mountain Kulm in the cool realms of the apple house before it is presented in a festive ceremony and released for sale.
Even today, it is regarded as the “prime meridian of good taste” and will delight all those who prove themselves worthy and equal to it.
