Bio- Bauernhof Schirkhof
WeißkirchenThe Schirkhof is an organic mountain farm in Weißkirchen, located at an altitude of 1,050 meters in the Styrian Zirbenland.
The farm is run by the Pletz family in its fourth generation as a hay milk operation with 18 hectares of grassland. Farmer Gerlinde Pletz, a trained educator and specialist in animal-assisted intervention, has developed the farm into a special place for health promotion and education. She primarily offers resilience training for children and adolescents, working with specially trained farm animals.
The Schirkhof has been awarded for its innovative work in the field of social farming. In October 2023, the farm received the Green Care certificate, making it the 16th certified Green Care operation in Styria.
The organic farm Schirkhof has developed into a center for health and education in the municipality of Weißkirchen, providing important impulses for improved quality of life in the region.
